Step inside the shower or bathtub. 400 series frenchwood gliding patio door. Place the door horizontal on the saw horses. To remove the screen door use a flathead screwdriver.

Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the threshold from the floor. Once you ve gathered these supplies follow the steps below to remove your sliding glass door. Insert the screwdriver at the bottom to lift the rollers from the track. Place the screwdriver beneath the threshold edge flat against the floor and pry the wood gently up taking care not to gouge the floor s surface.

Remove the screws that hold the fixed door in place in the sliding door tracks. Prep the floor foam sheets or thick blankets will protect your floor from any chipping or cracks due to the weight of the sliding glass door. Also called sliding glass doors these doors are designed to glide horizontally with one operating panel and one stationary panel. Remove the sliding glass door from the track by lifting up pulling the bottom forward and out.

If your sliding glass doors don t have the screen door then you may move on to the next step. If the fixed side of the sliding glass door is held up by a metal strip that attaches to the door jamb remove it. Step 1 remove any curtains or other decorations. Grasp the door that is closest to the inside of the tub or shower.

Lift up on the door until the rollers clear the bottom rail and pull inward. It will also protect the door itself as you set it down. Open the door and ask your helper to slightly lift the screen door. Position sheet plastic on the floor of a covered space and two saw horses.
