Slide the outside half of the lock out and away from the mounting holes in the door.

Press the latch bolt. Slide the inside half of the lock away from the door. Using a philips head screwdriver turn counterclockwise to unscrew a knob with standard hex head screws. Remove the handle from the outer side of the door and set it aside.

If your knob has a pinhole or small slot opening use a flathead screwdriver to push it inward. Grab the knob handles on both sides of the door and simultaneously turn both handles clockwise. Hold the handleset on the exterior side of the door and make sure the round edge of the spindle faces the door edge.
