Surly has released a statement urging any riders using its 8 pack or 24 pack front rack to stop using these immediately following a number of failures that have led to injuries.
While surly has yet to announce an official product recall they have posted a safety notice instructing anyone that has one of these racks fitted to their bikes to remove it immediately.

While the company does not yet have a fix or replacement it advises removing them immediately and awaiting further instruction through the company s blog social media or email.
